OAKLAND — Police were at the scene of an injury shooting in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said Tuesday.
Shortly before 8:35 p.m., officers responded to reports of ShotSpotter activity in the 7800 block of Garfield, followed by callers reporting possible gunshots.

Officers provided life-saving emergency measures until firefighters and paramedics arrived at the scene, while other officers responded to recover casings found on the ground along Garfield, block off nearby traffic, and re-direct at least one AC Transit bus line.
The victim’s condition was not immediately available Tuesday night. Police did not provide any description of a suspect or possible associated vehicle.
